If the Burj Khalifa of Dubai is proud of “At The Top,” then I guess Al Ain will always hold on to this beautiful and breathtaking view, the mini version of “At The Top.”
This beautiful scenery is located at Mercure Grand Jebel Hafeet Al Ain Hotel. Jebel Hafeet (literally “empty mountain”) is a mountain situated primarily in the vicinity of Al Ain, which itself is in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi in the UAE. Part of the mountain straddles the border with Oman, while the summit is located wholly within the United Arab Emirates.
If you are wondering whether you need to book a room to see this place, well the answer is NO. If you want to see the beautiful, vast and rocky-rich mountains of Al Ain, all you got to do is get in your car, turn on the engine, grab the steering wheel, and get going, but make sure you fill up your gas tank.
But, if you want to experience a perfect getaway wherein, you will experience a peaceful break from the sound of the city, staying in this hotel would be a great idea, not just for couples, but for a family that is looking for some time to bond. The place is not just impressive; it is extraordinary. The hotel has different restaurants that offer a variety of food and exciting moments to enjoy with someone you love, friends, and family. Mercure Grand offers the “Eden Rock/On Terrace,” “Lawrence’s,” “Orient Cafe,” and the “Al Khayma.”
Since I visited this place during February which falls in winter, I tried the Eden Rock/On Terrace restaurant which is situated outside the hotel, overlooking Al Ain. With the feeling of the breeze on my skin, it was quite cold but a jacket saved my day, and I enjoyed the food and the view.
To reach this place, it will require you to drive for a few hours coming from the other emirates of the UAE, but trust me, it is worth it.
So what are you waiting for? I guess you gotta plan your weekend, block your schedule, fill your gas tank, grab your keys and say “I gotta go and visit this place.”
