The saga continues as we hit 3 birds with one stone upon visiting Dubai Mall. A shopping mall in Dubai and the largest mall in the world by total area. It is the nineteenth largest shopping mall in the world by gross leasable area. Located in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, it is part of the 20-billion-dollar Downtown complex, and includes 1,200 shops. In 2011 it was the most visited building on the planet, attracting over 54 million visitors each year. Access to the mall is provided via Doha Street, rebuilt as a double-decker road in April 2009. <source: Wikipedia>
This huge mall is very popular all throughout Middle East and people visiting Dubai would never miss the chance of seeing this big mall that owns a lot of attraction. Apart from the fact that it is the prime location for the Dubai Fountain that I featured on my previous blog and is just adjacent to the famous Burj Khalifa and the main entry of the At The Top, Dubai Mall itself is rich with tourist attraction itself.
Branded clothing, bags, shoes and more. I guess it will take days for a person to complete seeing the 1,200 shops being offered by this huge mall. The mall also give different attractions for people from children to adult. There is an indoor ice skating ring that is something great to try and restaurants that will fill your gastric juices with surprise.
We will start with the famous Kidzania that is available for children so they can enjoy and see what life has to offer them in the future if they are on a specific job. This is something nice and educational in a way that will make your kids enjoy and learn about life. So if you have kids, this is one of the best places to visit.
Next is still for kids, but if you are a kid at heart, then the SEGA Republic will be the place to be. This is a good place to bond with your family over the weekend. This place will extremely make or break your fears and test your skills in playing computer games. A good way to spend and see your family smile and laugh as SEGA Republic rocks the entire day.
Are you a nature lover? Well, this one will give you the entire underwater experience. The Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo is one of the best way to communicate and be near to nature as it offers you the different kinds of underwater creatures that you never saw in your entire existence. This is one way of teaching your kids the underwater experience and what is our role as human being in preserving the kingdom Animalia as well. For tickets, you can pay and get it on the booths outside the aquarium or click here.
Next in line is the famous The Waterfall that is very eye catching and very captivating. This area garnered so many photos being posted online because of the beautiful diver statue that made this whole obra maestra one of a kind.
Aside from the featured above, there are a lot more to see in this huge mall that will for sure fill your experience with great joy. One tip I will tell you, if you plan to see a lot, wear the most comfortable footwear you think you have, better not to underestimate the so-called ‘walkathon’ inside this huge mall.
So how to visit this mall? Like on my previous blog, you have 3 options:
- If you have a rental car, then drive all the way to Dubai Mall. You can use google maps or waze. I prefer waze more because google cannot cope up of how this progressive country has been doing its own construction every now and then and for some reasons, waze is doing great and I don’t why. Anyway, it will be your own preference.
- If using a metro, you need to take the red line going to UAE Exchange and hop out of the train when it is already Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall. This time you have 2 options as well: A. walk form the metro going towards the mall, but mind you, it is a long walk, as in long way walk just to get inside the mall. So if you plan on doing this, please wear the most comfortable shoes you have. B. go out of the metro station, right in front of the exit, there is a bus stop, ride the bus F13 and it will drop you right in front of the entrance of Dubai Mall.
- If you don’t have a car and you don’t want to use the train, then you can ride cab and tell the driver you are going to Dubai Mall. Most drivers knew this famous mall so it will not be a problem.
This should be a very nice and awesome experience that is something good to try. Remember, this mall is the channel to everything I featured on my previous blog, so I guess my number 7 list should be remembered.
