Traveling soon? Read this!
After a few months of lockdown, the situation in many countries eased. Flights are back and the possibility to travel is already an option. But what do we know much about it?
During this time, there are so many things that are not the same. I will not use the term change but instead, I will call it an adaptation. Most airports and airlines adapted to the “new normal” to be able to continue their operations.
Many airline crews lost their job or had their salaries pay cut off up to 70% for those retained. As time flies, the possibility of flying seemed to be very hard and impossible for most people. I will say that I am one of those people at the beginning.
But there are things that we can do to plan ahead and be able to fly safely. It will all start with researching. We need to remember that not all Emirates have the same rules. The power of the internet is stronger than before as all of us relied on it for the past months until today.
So here is a quick tip that you can follow to make it easier for you:
- Research what are the restrictions at the airport you will be using to depart.
- Before booking your ticket, make sure that you know what are the restrictions in the country of destination.
- Read the COVID-19 PCR Test policy of every airport or airline.
- Make sure that you have the right language for the test results to avoid any hassle.
- Book your PCR Test days before your flight and make sure you have it in time.
- Arrive early at the airport as it might take long before you can check-in your luggage and use the online check-in option as much as possible.
- Try to organize your documents that it will be easy for you to show it.
- Make sure you have the necessary documents like the return approval form filled out if needed.
- Don’t forget to bring extra masks, hand gloves, and sanitizer.
- Try to follow social distancing as much as possible.
Everything is actually almost the same apart from all the forms and tests needed to be done. The one thing that is for sure is that it is a bit odd seeing people wearing masks in the aircraft. But since we have been seeing people wearing it all the time, it is kind of the same.
Try not to remove your mask while seated, of course with the exemption when you are eating or drinking. Sanitize your hands as needed.
Although the time is different now and it has been quite difficult, we need to always remember that there is always sunshine after the rain. We need to keep our healthy practices to keep ourselves and the people around us safe.
Safe flight everyone!
