I visited a place recently that made me experience a vibrant history apart from just the food they are serving. The restaurant is called Genghis Grill, located in the Al Wahda Mall Extension, Abu Dhabi.
If you love the subject of history, I guess you will be familiar with the name Genghis Khan, who was the founder and the Great Khan (Emperor) of the Mongol Empire, which became the largest contiguous empire. So I guess the restaurant is named after the great emperor for some reasons, not sure but I bet on it!
The restaurant has a tag line of “The Asian Experience,” and they will make you taste the modern Asian cuisine. They are offering a lot of things including a “build your bowl” where you get to choose which protein (meaning meat), veggies, sauce, spices and even starch (meaning pasta or rice) you want in your bowl. They also have their signature bowls that you can try if you aren’t sure what and which to mix.
They also serve a la carte, and it is suitable for sharing since the portions usually serve 2-3 people. I tried their famous Mongolian beef (which is something I like to try in every Chinese restaurant I hop in) to experience the new blend and trend of how they prepare it. I chose it to be not that spicy because I am not really into spicy food, and I must say it was delicious. I also tried the Tempura, Black Pepper Salmon and Korean BBQ, which are all very good.
Apart from the enticing smell of the food and the very excellent taste, what made me fall in love with this restaurant is the cleanliness of the place and how friendly and accommodating the staff is, you can see that they are very attentive.
I am delighted that I discovered this restaurant, they are serving one of the best Chinese cuisines I ever tasted. I am happy to recommend it to everybody. If you are from Dubai, you need to travel to Abu Dhabi to taste this new experience since this is the only branch of the restaurant, but I can guarantee that the food is worth the travel.
So what are you waiting for? Like the Great Emperor Khan, you should try this great food at Genghis!
